AshviniSekar Writes:

For all those women who have this question and keep on asking how to manage time for studies, I have Family and Kid and so on .... :) :) :)

" Kitni shiddat se tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai.. Ki har zarre ne mujhe tumse milane ki saazish ki hai..
Kehte hain agar kisi cheez ko agar dil se chaho to saari kayanath tumhe usse milane ki koshish me lag jaati hai.. "  - Om Shanti Om

“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
― Paulo CoelhoThe Alchemist

Even the Blog Title Above has Quotation "Desire is the starting point of all achievement..."  All of the Above Explains Everything you asked for....

Its the desire in your heart that will help you plan for your studies... First of all How will it make any difference for us to study at home with family kids etc, If we are serious enough... Many have already done that then why cant we...
I know it is little Tough to read all the time , But Believe me Its not that Difficult also, You yourself will find new ways to manage your time well for Studies... All That needs is Willingness to Start...
I understand that Not everybody's Family will be that co operative or will motivate you for studies... But to fulfill our dreams we should not expect an outsider to motivate us...

Anyways the tips remain same as i already mentioned in General and applicable to all not just for women:

  • Firstly be Determined and firm in your Decision that No matter what happens I will Study till i achieve.
  • Be Proud of Yourself and tell yourself Constantly in your mind that " Achievement without any problem is just Success and Succeeding even with problems is creating History" ...
  • Make a note of all your daily work and see which is your free time and use it effectively in reading some basic books atleast, Just like some Ladies read Fashion books We might be reading NCERT's or General Knowledge books. :)
  • No matter What Happens in a day try to read at-least Newspaper and Make important points from that.
  • Avoid Parties and Functions If you feel that It will divert Your study mindset (i.e Put an end to Not so important Outings, It will be temporary, Once you have reached your goal, can resume all such things.) I know How it is difficult to avoid a Lot of invitations on various occasions , specially when you are no more a bachelor, But Try to Attend the Most important ones. I know that some will even Talk about us saying see she is not coming to this function that bla bla an all... Just Ignore the bugs...
  • Most importantly Be free in your thinking and thoughts and Explain to your Family members about, How its important that you need to Study an all... I suppose they will Understand... If not Don't worry Nothing changes except that You need to spend some extra hours on Study By:
Waking up early or sleep Late, Anything your willing to but Sacrifice your time for Studies... (Some Family members who may not encourage you in the beginning , may also Melt down after seeing your Hard-work slowly... Even they will all co operate with you provided You work Hard)

Even If i go on writing Pages together on this Subject it can only be Concluded that :
Determination and Efficient time planning alone are things you should be Working on constantly, about responsibilities on Ur shoulder , they always exist... some times we should enjoy the difficulties also...

Belated Happy Women's Day to all the Readers...

Hi,
I am married and having 2 kids too. I wrote KAS mains in 2012 when my kid was just one month old. I have scored 743 and I am proud of it. What ashwini says is right.
Nothing comes in your way if you are determined. Just give up all your entertainment. The only thing you have to do in your leisure is studying. I used to wake not before 6 in the morning but sleep by 1 in the night. But it never made me tired just because I had decided to take up the exam. I am not sure whether I'll clear the exam but I am 100% satisfied with my efforts. That should be the outcome of anything we do. We should never be guilty about our efforts, we should never feel that I could have put in more efforts.

Good Luck Deepika!!!!

Hey guys,
I find it a little difficult to get info on the syllabus for KAS, and especially when i read that pertaining to karnataka. So, would anyone be kind enough to tell me about the books i should study for info on karnataka and relevant subjects for prelims, mains, GS and i mean for the entire series of test. Thanks

hello ashwini
i am laxmi planning to prepare for kas. my problem is i am not able to select the subjects for my mains as i have graduated in computers(BCA) and also i have not done puc to take up any science or maths subject. i have done 10+3 ( diploma in e&c). so please guide me to take up subjects. one i have thought of taking is psychology, and confused with other. suggest me some easy once as i am a house wife with two kids.

@laxmi,

U r planning to take up one optional as psychology, it will be good if you concentrate on the same at this point of time.becuz there might be removal of another optional as UPSC pattern. Anyways if u want to choose 2 subjects to be on safer side, check the syllabus of various other subjects like Geography,Rural Development, history etc etc. Many Technical background students go for them even though they have studied these subjects till their 10th.Finally u have to decide your comfort level in the selected subject.
